Our First Christmas!

This is our first Christmas as husband and wife! I am beyond excited! It's not only my favorite month, but the month of Ben's birthday as well! Over Thanksgiving break, we were going through some of Ben's old boxes and found some gifts that I had given him over the years. Let me just say, picking out a gift for a boy in middle school when you have all sisters is hard! Ben received some interesting gifts from me. The worst one was a stuffed football that could be used as a remote control. Some how that one didn't make it into the box of memories. I love giving gifts and am proud to say that I'm 99% sure I have a better gift for him this year. It has been fun setting up our first Christmas tree together and spending the holiday season together! We have some things planned here in OKC to celebrate the holiday and then we are headed to Dallas for Christmas! We will eventually be making our way down to Huntsville to spend a couple of days with my mom's extended family. This is one of my favorite parts of the Christmas break. Unfortunately it is getting a little harder now that some of us are in the real world, but we will make it for a few days! Between the cousins, the dessert corner, and hay tag, we are very excited! (Well, I'm not sure if Ben is excited for the cousins, but I am! :D)

Here's a picture of our Christmas tree!

Travels

Ben and I have been busy traveling the past couple of weekends! It has been so great seeing friends and family that we have not been able to see in a while. The first weekend in November was Baylor's Homecoming. We were so excited to see family and friends we hadn't seen since our wedding. Unfortunately with our work schedule, we were not able to make it to the bonfire. Being a grown-up has its pitfalls. So we drove to Dallas Friday evening, and then woke up early Saturday morning and drove to Waco. I barely remember the parade as we were visiting and catching up during most of it. After the parade we went to the game and then hung out with some friends. It was so great catching up and seeing everyone.

Before we knew it, Thanksgiving was here and we were headed to Florida! I was very excited to be joining Ben and his family for Thanksgiving, rather than seeing him off at the airport. It was definitely weird not spending Thanksgiving with my family, but it was fun to start new memories and traditions. We arrived in Florida Wednesday morning and started the day off with some fabulous seafood! During the week we went to the beach several times, ate a fabulous Thanksgiving meal, cut down the Christmas tree, and made lots of memories!

We are so blessed by family and friends and enjoy the time we get to spend with them. We are working hard these next couple of weeks at work so that we can enjoy more time at Christmas with family and friends!
